Worship and Music Ministry

The Worship and Music Ministry is at the center of the worship experience at Bethel Lutheran working  closely with the pastor to bring theologically sound, meaningful and relevant services to the congregation coordinating the liturgy, music, activities and people needed to enhance all Sunday worship services and special occasions.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings at 7:45 p.m. They sing on the first, and third  Sundays during September-May. All are welcome to join the choir.

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. During Lent, the times change to accommodate the Lenten evening services. They play on the second Sunday of the month. They also play at area nursing homes, the senior center, and at other special services at church. New members are always welcome. Please contact the director through the church office.

Keyboard Specialists

Bethel is fortunate to have four keyboard specialists who enhance our worship services with beautiful spirit-filled music. Their preludes and postludes set the tone for the worship service. This year the congregation received a memorial gift of an outstanding Clavinova that enriches the music experience at Bethel.

Special music is always welcome and is often used during the summer months.

Altar Guild

Preparation of Holy Communion is a vital part of the Altar Guild  service with twenty-six members who take time to prepare the trays of wine and bread. Communion is on the first and third Sundays of the month and on Maundy Thursday, Easter, Chistmas and Confirmation Sunday. Other areas of care provided by the Altar Guild are: hanging of banners, changing of the paraments on the altar, pulpit, and lectern, and preparation of linen for Baptism.

The congregation participates in this ministry in many ways:  as children's semon leaders, lectors, ushers, greeters, and the many other tasks that facilitate our worship.
